We have walls. Well Kind of.

Plywood is up all around the studio. It looks so substantial with walls! Just a matter of time now.....

The view from our deck:

I am dreaming of starting in on the floors. More about that soon!

One more pic of the shed today!

Better pics tomorrow but look - almost have walls!

Shed (and garden) Update

Well we almost have a nicely insulated floor! Exciting. Of course now I am dreaming of the beautiful tile that will cover this floor. We are choosing tile since the floor needs to be fire proof. I am leaning towards wood like tile in a white wash or bleached wood look. What do you all think? Here are some pics of the shed as she stands this am.

And, since I was out there, lets take a look at the garden!

Some gladiolus bulbs getting ready to bud out:

Jasmine and my Anabelle hydrangeas getting ready to bloom as well. I love the slow buildup of the Anabelle hydrangeas. The start as these tiny green flowers and over a few weeks turn into large luscious pure white crowns of flowers.

How is your garden blooming?

The studio build is on!

The work on my very own outside studio is finally underway! It will house all my explosive endeavors such as my kiln (yes glass explodes) and torches and I am promised that if it goes it will not take the house with it. What more can I ask for?

Super Kewl Jewelry

Tis the season of warmer weather which means one thing (ok maybe many things) - time to work with glass and fire up the old kiln again! As soon as that thermometer eeks its way above 60 degrees then it is officially warm enough for me to start cutting and melting glass to my hearts content! And I have loads of ideas that have just been swimming in my head all winter. One such source of fabulous ideas is this super star jewelry designer I can across on Etsy (where else?!). Her name is Barbara Macleod and she makes the coolest enamel jewelry I have ever seen! Take a look - I am ready to incorporate it into my glass.......

My fav - the detail alone is just so inspiring!

This is also a beauty

How much fun would it be to sport this on your hand?

Better than your average locket...reminds me of a sea urchin
